Icon entrepreneur Elon Musk-headed Starlink internet service has reached 99 countries proving itself to be a fast-growing satellite broadband provider. The chief shared the milestone via his X handle.
The benchmark was achieved after SpaceX-owned service was successfully launched in the Republic of Fiji which spans across 300 islands.
“Starlink is now live across the 300+ islands in the Republic of Fiji, marking the 99th country, territory, or market around the world where Starlink’s high-speed internet service is available,” the company shared.
Recently, Musk was on a trip to Indonesia for the service’s launch where he made the fascinating revelation. Now, Starlink satellite has connected 3 million users across 99 countries. Musk said that the connectivity would reach people in remote areas of the country (Indonesia) with quality service.

“Bringing connectivity to remote communities radically improves access to education and economic opportunities,” Musk said after the launch in Indonesia. Musk highlighted that a Starlink connection can be ordered within 2 minutes on the company’s website.
Just like Fiji, Indonesia comprises over 17,000 islands. Due to geographical hazards, traditional connectivity is not able to meet the demands for reliable connection, something Musk hopes Starlink satellite service could address.
The South African-born Musk believes that SpaceX could launch over 90% of Earth’s payload to orbit in 2024. In the meantime, you can check out the Starlink availability map from here.
