Vodafone starts 5G at Aberdeen International Airport

Vodafone Three has started 5G service at Aberdeen International Airport. The move brings reliable and fast connectivity to one of the busiest airports in Scotland.

The telco has set up a dedicated 5G network via Exchange Communications.

However, 5G standalone will be launched in the next few months, meaning that users will have to be on 5G NSA (Non-Standalone) and 4G connections for the time being. Find out 5G advantages and understand why it outperforms other networks for current-day data needs.

With Aberdeen Int’l Airport getting 5G, passengers can check their flight details, post their status, contact their family and friends, and use other online services.

This will only be further improved when Sa 5G is launched later.

Andrea Donà, Chief Network Officer at VodafoneThree, said: “Our investment doesn’t stop at cities, towns, and villages. We’re also ensuring our customers have the coverage they expect when visiting busy locations such as airports, stadiums, train stations, and shopping centres. Aberdeen International is a great example of the work we are undertaking to improve our coverage for our customers and another clear signal of our ability to move at pace in our wider commitment to building the UK’s best network.”

Vodafone Three plans to cover 99% of the UK population with a 5G SA network by 2030. Compared to the NSA network, the Sa network delivers superior and optimum connectivity with speed, reliability, and latency that is expected of this true mobile broadband network.
