T-Mobile has officially become a fiber internet service provider. The new development comes after the prominent telco bought Lumos, an internet service provider.
Now, the company is serving over 500,00 households in the US, which were precisely on Lumos’s network. Although the number doesn’t sound like a huge deal, the operator is firm that it will expand the service to far more areas in the near future. The service is now available in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
T-Mobile plans to combine its fiber business and 5G Home Internet service, which boasts a strong 7 million customers. The 5G Home Internet is a wireless service in which subscribers get a signal from cell towers. Its speed is not going to be ridiculously high, but the fiber is an entirely another thing. It can offer up to 2 Gbps of speed.
T-Mobile fiber internet price
T-Mobile has announced the following fiber internet prices and deals:

The prices for the fiber internet services are fairly attractive. The starting 500 Mbps connections come at $75 a month. But if you buy the package with a T-Mobile voice line, it comes cheaper at $60 per month. The 1 Gbps connection is priced at $90 a month, but it’s coming in at $75 with a T-Mobile voice line. Likewise, the premium package, a 2 Gbps one, comes at $105 a month, but you get it at just $90 per month with a T-Mobile voice line.
The company has promised a five-year price guarantee with no monthly equipment fees and installation charges to lure in users. At the same time, early buyers get a 2 Gbps deal called the Fiber Founders Club starting at $70 a month. It also comes with a 10-year price guarantee.
The carrier is also offering an enticing, but limited-time 2 Gig deal for early adopters, called the Fiber Founders Club, that’ll cost just $70 per month with a 10-year price guarantee.
T-Mobile adds that the 1 Gbps fiber internet users get a Home WiFi mesh device and other freebies with T-Mobile Tuesdays. The plan ensures a price guarantee of five years. The company says, “We set our plan pricing to be competitive in the market and deliver customers the best possible value, which is what we’re doing with these new plans. And we’ll continue finding ways to give customers more to ensure they’re getting the best value alongside benefits they love at T-Mobile.”
T-Mobile expects to grow its fiber internet user base to between 12 to 15 million US households by 2030.
