Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading telco service provider, has expanded its 5G network to over 800 sites across 24 districts. The development accentuates the country’s initiative for digital transformation through the next-generation cellular technology.
Dialog has consistently focused on expanding newer technologies to more regions across the country. Just a few months ago, it started working on 5G expansion, and now, it’s already live in millions of households.
The company calls its 5G service, Dialog 5G Ultra. It now has over 1.5 million customers with coverage spanning many rural and remote areas in the country. According to the company, its 5G service is now expanded to new districts such as Ratnapura, Monaragala, Badulla, Vavuniya, Polonnaruwa, Hambantota, Mullaitivu, and Kegalle.
With 5G, users can enjoy faster data, low latency, and unleash a smoother internet experience in streaming, downloading files, video conferencing, etc. There are, of course, more 5G advantages.

Besides growing expansion nationwide, Dialog is also providing 5G experiences at its Experience Zones at the Dialog Iconic Head Office, the World Trade Centre (WTC), and the Kandy Dialog Experience Centre.
At the Iconic Center, users can enjoy 5G Powered VR Cycling, a 5G Smart City demonstration, and a 5G Powered AI Portrait experience, while the WTC Outlet provides a 5G Powered AI Portrait experience, and the Kandy experience store showcases 5G Powered VR Cycling
The 5G expansion further bolsters Dialog’s presence in the country’s telecommunications industry.
