Reliance Jio now allows users to manage their Call Forwarding service on the MyJio App. This removes the need to rely on USSD codes or phone settings. However, there’s a catch to it as well.
How to configure Call Forwarding on the MyJio app?
Here are the steps to set up call forwarding in the Jio network on the MyJio app:
- Open the MyJio app
- Go to Profile
- Tap Mobile Settings, then tap Service Settings
- Now tap Call Forwarding > Voice and Video
Users can choose between Always Forward When Busy/ When Unreachable/ When Unanswered. It’s the same as they find on their phone’s settings.
Also: Jio, Airtel, BSNL start cross-network HD voice service
Call forwarding on the MyJio app comes with a catch
And the catch is that call forwarding on the MyJio app is only possible using mobile data. That means it won’t work even with a WiFi connection. It’s strictly mobile data. This hints that Jio is routing the feature through its own network; it’s not allowing the proceedings through a foreign internet connection. It may also be down to ensuring maximum security.
The fact that it won’t allow the feature activation over WiFi means users are told to switch to using mobile data for the same. It’s the only inconvenience in this feature, which otherwise makes call forward setup a straightforward process.
